I wanted my job because, in my old job, I was really missing science and learning new things.

Ultimately, I hope my job will provide me with the opportunity to continue learning about science for the rest of my life. Luckily, if that doesn’t work out, lots of employers like PhD graduates, since you have to be hard working to do one.

I always loved finding things out, building things and playing with experiments at school. I wanted to do that for a job! There are lots of training, travel and management opportunities. I’m also lucky because an opportunity came up to do a part-time PhD while at work!

I have the chance to work at the largest laboratory in particle physics in the world, CERN. I get to learn a lot from a lot of people from around the world who also collaborate at CERN. I also get to travel a lot to conferences and workshop. I get to see people from around the world, from different cultures, eat different types of international food. Science is very international nowadays and that makes it very cool!

I liked the combination of informatics and biology applied to medical settings, therefore I developed skills to get a job like this. It provides the opportunity to work into medicine, collaborate with a diverse type of people from doctors, nurses, mathematicians, biologist, immunologist etc… All for better understanding human diseases
