I work on a site that manufactures Flu vaccine, which is given as a nasal spray not as a jab. I hand out material from all stages of the production process for lab testing, which can be anything from the colour of the material to the number of viral particles present (the units of flu). I attend meetings to ensure everything is on target and we will meet our goals. We use the information to make choices about what happens to the product we make and who gets to use it.

My Typical Day:
Hand out samples, check data and create reports

I hand out samples to the different testing groups for testing. The samples are all stored in locked fridges and freezers to allow full sample control. I review data from the samples tested and complete reports to cover what the data tells us about the samples. The data lets us know if the sample has stayed the way we expected it to. This information controls how we sell the material we manufacture, it lets us know the sell by date – have you ever thought about how they know use by date for the items you use daily or why this is needed?
