      The Higgs boson, the particle without which we wouldn’t exist. The observation of this new fundamental ingredient confirms there is a field everywhere in space that gives mass to particles. It is so important, the Nobel Prize was awarded.

      My research focuses on the study of DNA which is is the material that carries all the information about how a living thing will look and function – i found this extremely interesting!

      My favourite course at university was learning how a star works. If found it so interesting that a simple blob of hydrogen floating in space can turn into a really complicated star if you just turn gravity on!
