The Higgs boson is predicted to decay to all the particles that have mass. It hasn’t been seen to decay to a pair of bottom quark particles. Though it decays the most often to these particles (60% of the time), these particles are also produced often not coming from the Higgs boson. We are confident we will see this decay channel once we both collect enough data and improve our data analysis enough. That will confirm even further the Standard Model theory.
At this very moment I’m looking at how noisy a plasma is. I’ve been changing the parameters of my plasma and it affects how ‘up and down’ the signal is. I’m trying to find out if there’s any order or pattern in this noise and come up with an idea of what’s causing it.
I’m hoping to have sorted through all the data and come up with an idea this week or next, as there are lots of other things to do and I don’t want to waste too much time on this! 😀
