      I guess you know that ordinary hydrogen is one proton orbited by one electron? Protons are positively charged and electrons are negative. Since there’s one of each in the atom, they cancel out and hydrogen as a whole is neutral. If you put a second electron onto a hydrogen atom, you’ve added extra negative charge, so we call it ‘negative hydrogen’
