• Question: I don't really like science and I'm in top set for it and my target level is very high what do I do

      Well, this is better than the opposite position! If you get to the end of your GCSEs and you still don’t enjoy it then there are plenty of non-science careers out there.

      I wouldn’t recommend taking any subject you’re not interested in. That being said, I wasn;t a big fan of science in school (too much memorisation), and now look at me 😛

      A science education trains you to think critically, solve problems. This is used in many branches of life and in many jobs. You could still study a STEM subject, like engineering, medicine or maths. It’s better to do business or work in a bank after you have a STEM subject, in my opinion. Employers value the set of skills that come from a STEM degree.

      It’s difficult to get great at something if you don’t really like it. You’re obviously good enough at it to be in the top set, though – so good for you! Getting good grades is important for your future. You may not like it now, but school is really such a short time of your life so you should make the most of it while you’re there – you won’t get another chance. Try your best, try to find experiments you do like and pass those exams. Then you can move onto things you do really enjoy 🙂

      There are plenty of non-scientific careers out there. Just find the one that you like the most 🙂
