      Yes, planetary science is the field of physics that studies the formation of planets. Our planet was formed from the accretion disk of the Sun. The heavier elements like iron moved to the outside due to the rotation, while the light elements (hydrogen, helium) remained in the middle, creating the star. In other words, the star and the planets formed at the same time, in the same way.
