      I was part of a large team that found the Higgs boson. It’s pretty awesome. A fundamental new ingredient of the Universe. The Nobel prize was awarded to the theorists that predicted it.

      I once found a £20 note just lying in the street!

      Seriously, though, I can’t say I’ve personally made a discovery as amazing as a gravitational wave or a Higgs boson, but the ‘ion source’ I work on every day is pretty awesome. A beautiful pink plasma with hundreds of amps and volts of electricity that would melt your hand off if you could touch it! Have a look on my profile 🙂
